Philadelphia Sjögren's Walkabout Sets Records

On May 21, 2005 the Sjögren's Syndrome Foundation held its first ever Sjögren's Walkabout in the Philadelphia area and set a new Walkabout fundraising record. Thanks to the support of the Sjögren's Philadelphia community, the event raised an astounding $70,142 to benefit the Foundation with donations still coming in! With this total, the Philadelphia Sjögren's Walkabout became the highest grossing Sjögren's Walkabout in the history of the organization.

The Philadelphia Walkabout saw over 300 Sjögren's patients, family members and friends come out to Bucks County Pennsylvania at Tyler State Park to enjoy this non-competitive family-fun event. And fun was certainly had. Before the Walkabout stepped off, attendees won prizes at the relay-race events and the kids enjoyed the moon bounce, face painting and Lucky the Clown. And thanks to the help of Philadelphia's NBC 10 News meteorologist Amy Freeze - the event's Master of Ceremonies - the walkers enjoyed fantastic weather.

The Walkabout was such a successful event thanks to the hard work of the Sjögren's Walkabout Co-Chairs - Virginia Vivino and Linda Knox - and all of our wonderful sponsors:
