We encourage you to frequently check
the Transportation Security Administration traveler website and to call your airline before
flying to get an update on the most recent security restrictions. For example, a new rule was issued August 13th allowing non-prescription medically
necessary liquids up to 4 ounces.
Commenting on the new restrictions, Steven Taylor, CEO of the SSF had this to say, "The Foundation is continually working to address the needs of
Sjögren's in all aspects of patients' lives. We know how debillitating an extended flight could be without your proper medications in hand and
we hope that these travel tips will be a helpful guide to make your flight as comfortable as possible."
If you are a Sjögren's patient and have had trouble or successes traveling with the recent TSA restrictions, please contact the foundation toll free at 1-800-475-6473
or email us at ssf@sjogrens.org to tell us your story.
